Principal’s Message Welcome back BESS students! On behalf of myself, Susan Lemoine - Wood, Meghan Flynn and Rachel Huva we thank you for giving us a warm welcome to the communities of Tachet and Granisle. The new teaching staff for the 2005 – 06 school year is as follows (L – R) : Mr. Graham Wood, Principal and 7 -11 teacher; Ms. Rachel Huva, Grades 7 – 11, Mrs. Susan LeMoine – Wood Grades K – 3; Ms. Meghan Flynn, Grades 4 – 6; and one more teacher yet to be hired. The school has an excellent mix of young vibrant and experienced teachers. This will auger well for the new year as the staff plans to make this year a very rewarding and productive year for our students and your children and youth. This can ONLY be achieved with the support of the parents in the communities of Granisle and Tachet. We need your support to make the year a success! Graham Wood

DO YOU NEED YOUR CHILDREN INSURED?? Every year, some students
get hurt. Most of the time the
injuries are minor scrapes and bruises, but sometimes they are more
serious. Most of the time, the cost of
any medical treatment is covered by our province’s Medical Services Plan
(MSP) or a parent or guardian’s group plan, but sometimes, as is the case
with some dental injuries, there is little or no coverage. The Student Accident Insurance schools
offer at the beginning of the school year, will pick
up many of these kinds of costs, if parents have applied for the insurance
and paid the minimal premium of around $6.50 per student. School districts select the plan and the
insurer they prefer and offer it to their school families. While the cost of insurance is yet another
expense for families to consider at this time of year, it is very inexpensive
in terms of the risk involved. Please give consideration to this as an
economical way to protect your children. The forms will be sent to you and
you will have to forward them to the address provided on the form. |
NEW STUDENT COUNCIL FOR BESS STUDENTS! On Friday September
23rd the polls will be open for the students of BESS to elect a
new student council. The election will provide students with a voice in how
the school can work for them and provide students with a government that can
plan events such as dances, sock hops, fun nights, lip-sync, etc. Get out and make this BESS Council work
for you!
