To live, learn, and work successfully in an increasingly complex, information-rich and knowledge based society, students must learn to utilize technology effectively. Teachers are key to this process. In addition to a solid grounding in content, students need to know how to use their knowledge and skills by thinking critically, applying their knowledge to new situations, analyzing information, comprehending new ideas, communicating, collaborating, solving problems, and making decisions. These are 21st century skills.
