Creating a French Vocabulary Review Booklet

Before you begin, read the goals, the assignment, and assessment carefully:

1) the goals: to enable you to....

a) connect to personal experiences and prior knowledge

b) use a variety of sources to create an engaging set of activities to practice French words and phrases

2) the assignment

Create a review activity for the following scenario:

You have been hired to create a French Review Booklet. Your product will be a paper version. You must provide review material for a minimum of three French vocabulary sets from your grade five year.

 

3) assessment: (rubric) your information will assessed on your

a) product: providing activities (+ an answer key) to review French vocabulary

b) content: provides accurate practice for three sets of French vocabulary (e.g. colours, numbers, greetings)

c) originality: design, activities

d) care and attention (publishable): accuracy, neatness, layout, quantity

 

Begin the assignment....

4) decisions (* you must show me # 5 prior to moving on to the next phase)

i) choose your vocabulary sets

ii) choose the form of practice (must be unique to our class)

iii) list of resources to help you choose your activities

iv) plan your activities (vocabulary, activity)

v) *create a rough copy (contains all information e.g. all words)

5) research (French/English dictionary, online) the French words and, if needed, pronunciation guide for words and phrases on your list

 

Checking for readiness....

6) have a peer complete your practice activities (make any corrections/changes you need)

7) hand in your assignment
