Before you begin, read the goals, the assignment, and assessment carefully:

1) the goals: to enable you to....

a) explore and respond to creative works from the Francophone world

b) identify elements of the Francophone cultural background

c) identify elements of Francophone culture in Canada

2) the assignment

a) using Inspiration, create a mind map showing the topics (save in your files)

b) research each topic and record notes (key words) below each topic (save)

c) convert the map to note form and copy onto a word document (save)

d) collect a selection of good images for each topic (in the end, you will choose one image)

e) rewrite your notes into paragraphs (this becomes the main part of your script) (save as a word document, see template)

f) add a title page (you will introduce yourself using your online name and the topic)

g) add an introduction (an introductory paragraph about your presentation)

h) add a conclusion, ( a paragraph summarizing your presentation)

i) create a Voice Thread presenting the following information about the Francophone culture

i) Quebec (located, landscapes, size)

ii) history

iii) food

iv) traditions

v) language

vi creative works

vii) famous French Canadians

* minimum 1 audio slide for each (10 total): title page, introductory paragraph, per topic, concluding paragraph, resources used

note: you must hand in your script

3) assessment: (rubric) your information will assessed on your

a) collection: selection of images & details, relevancy

b) organization: presentation flow, completeness

c) interpretation and analyzes: content is combined and revised into your own words, connections between sections (e.g. conclusion)

d) presentation: clarity of images and voice, reading fluency

5) dictionary: look up "plagiarized" in a dictionary and discuss the meaning with a peer

6) begin your assignment

Checking for readiness....

7) final check: listen to your final presentation and then have a peer listen so that you can make any changes necessary prior to handing your assignment in to me

8) save a final copy in my file, Ready for Marking
