Learning Intentions: I have a focussed idea and my writing contains relevant, accurate, quality details. I anticipate and address the reader's questions and connect to what they already know.
Criteria:
1/ Ideas: messages, the content of the piece, the main theme, together with the details that enrich and develop
Learning Intentions: My ideas are clearly developed by using effective supporting details, explanations and comparisons.
2/ Organization: organizing your writing so that it is easy to follow
Learning Intentions: My writing is organized in a meaningful, logical, effective way to show the main idea or theme.
3/ Voice: writing so that the reader wants more to read (e.g. it is interesting, contains emotion) (decorations from Structure and Style in Writing)
Learning Intentions: My writing reveals an emerging and honest voice that demonstrates an appreciation and interest in the topic.
4/ Word Choice: the words and phrases help the reader create strong pictures in their mind (choosing better words, dress-ups from Structure and Style in Writing; glossary synonym)
Learning Intentions: My writing is uses effective word choice by using an increasing number of new, powerful, precise words, including powerful verbs and adverbs.
5/ Sentence Fluency: the reader can feel the words and phrases as they flow together (e.g. sentences that begin in different ways (because) and is easy to read aloud (sentence openers, sentence styles from Structure and Style in Writing)
Learning Intentions: My writing uses a variety sentence types and lengths to increase the rhythm and flow.
6/ Conventions: your writing needs very few corrections
Learning Intentions: My writing has very few errors in structure, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
+/ Presentation: your writing is presented in a please, appropriate way
Learning Intentions: My writing is pleasing to look at and easy to read.
