Student Leadership

Mouse Mountain Elementary School has had a  Student Leadership Program at the school for the past few years. This year, 2002 - 2003, the student leadership program was re-organized.  Students' roles changed from supervising and conflict resolution to helping throughout the school.  Students are invited to help with bottle and paper recycling, writing caring and sharing tickets for students on the playground, helping in the school library and the office, and taking backpacks to classrooms when students leave them at the back door.  This year 31 students have been involved as Junior Leaders.  It has been exciting to see our oldest students working and helping throughout the school.  By taking a lead role, students have developed a strong sense of being an important part of the school community.  They are models for the younger students who look forward to their turn to be Grade 3 Leaders.
