Topley Elementary is situated half way between Houston and Burns Lake B.C. The Hamlet of Topley is a rural community comprised of a residential core, which also includes development on two arteries (Howell's Road and Sunset Lake Road) and the families that live either east or west on the Yellowhead highway and it's sideroads.

The school itself is small and houses children who arrive on foot or by one of the two buses that service the school.
