Topley School has taken consistent steps to address student differences and adjust the delivery of programs to suit differing needs. Central to developing this process is the partnership developed between the classroom teacher, the learning assistance teacher, the teacher aides, the parents and the children. Attention is paid to overall curriculum needs, timetabling and the ability of individuals to meet these needs.

Topley staff has developed a process whereby there is an ongoing assessment of the meaningful delivery of all programs delivered to students on adapted programs and those working through an IEP. This process is administered through the learning assistance teacher.

Specialists outside the school are accessed on a regular basis as in the case of the Speech and Language Patholigist and the district Director of Instruction of Special Education. Other services are available through a variety of agencies in Houston and BurnsLake. These services are on a needs basis.
