District Science Fair 2023

Nechako Lakes School District has been hosting a District Science Fair for over 10 years.  With the majority of our elementary schools participating and an increasing number of secondary students, we have seen an increase in the number of local students moving on to regional, national and international. The 2023 District Science Fair was held on Feb 8, 2023 at Fraser Lake Elementary Secondary School, with participation from 122 students from across the district!

Our regional fair is called the 'Central Interior Region Science Fair' (CISE). It took place on March 4^th, 2023 at the University of Northern British Columbia.  Check out the website: Central Interior Science Exhibition

There is also a Canada Wide Science Fair (CWSF) in May 2023 for students in grades 7 -12 who qualify at the regional level. For more info, visit https://youthscience.ca/science-fairs/cws.

**ETHICS APPLICATIONS**  (DUE JAN 31, 2023)

Ethics forms must only be done if your research involves animal or human participants. The ethics forms can be downloaded below; you should have approval before starting your experiment. Application forms will be reviewed and approved by the CISE ethics committee. The deadline for ethics forms is January 31, 2023.

There are two types of projects that involve human participants: LOW RISK or SIGNIFICANT RISK. Read the policy to see which one applies to you and then submit that form.
