‘Shelter in Place’ – Fort St. James Schools

Early this morning a social media post was received that contained a threat to all Fort St James schools. As the threat mirrors similar social media posts across North America, the RCMP are investigating but have not yet deemed this a credible threat. As a precaution we will begin with a ‘Shelter in Place’ in our schools this morning. This means that school staff will be directing children into schools as external doors will be locked and monitored while children will remain inside of schools for the day. A police presence has been deployed to conduct mobile and static mobile patrols of the schools throughout the day. We will communicate further information as we become aware of it.
