Let us do Business!
School District No. 91 – Career & Trades Programs is moving forward with the delivery of a number of business orientated initiatives in the coming months, as our valued Partners in Education, your input and participation is kindly requested to help us move these initiatives forward.
The School District is actively pushing for entrepreneurship and tech innovation programming that engages students throughout the K-12 system.
SD91 has collaborated with YELL – Young Entrepreneurship Leadership Launchpad (http://weyell.org/), a non-profit organization out of the lower mainland to provide needed support to get things off the ground. YELL has done great work developing relevant and engaging curriculum resources related to entrepreneurship/business education. YELL, also provides critical support connecting relevant business and local mentors with students enrolled in entrepreneurship courses. We have also collaborated with ICS – Innovation Central Society, a group focused around the development of tech innovation related business practices. Both David Cameron from YELL and Matt Hutcheon from ICS are excited about the opportunity to partner with SD91.
We will be hosting both David (YELL) and Matt (ICS) March 10th from 10:00 to 2:00 @ NVSS Drama Room (room 130) in order to connect them with a number of teacher champions throughout the district and with you the business community.
YELL and ICS will go over the programs and resources they bring to the table and will certainly be looking to hear feedback in addition to making some initial connections with teachers and the local business community.
We will of course, provide lunch as a small token of our appreciation.
