**Launching in Fall 2025**
One of the measures we are taking as a district is to establish our online payment system to minimize cash and cheque payments at our schools and encourage parents to make online payments from home. Through School Cash Online, parents can pay registration fees, course fees, field trips, yearbooks, school clothing, and more.
Families who use School Cash Online have the ability to:
- Keep track of their child’s school items and activity fees.
- Stay connected by receiving email notifications of new fees.
- Check their account history.
- View and print receipts.
- Pay for school fees anytime, anywhere, with a simple click.
- Approve Permission Slips for school travel and activities
- Easily link and access all students in a household.
School Cash Online payments can be made with Visa, Mastercard, or electronic cheques.
It takes less than 5 minutes to register. Please follow these step-by-step instructions to receive email notifications regarding upcoming events involving your child. A small processing fee is charged for this service. Full details are in the terms during the registration process. More information in the FAQ section below.
How to Register - (Check with your school office for more details)
- Go to the SD91 SchoolCashOnline.com: Welcome Page and click on the Register button to get started.

- Enter your first name, last name, and email, and create a password.
- Select a security question.
- Check YES to receive email notifications.
- A confirmation email will be sent to you. If you do not receive it, check your Spam folder.
3. Follow the instructions in the email. Your email is used as your username in your profile.

How to Add a Student
- Sign in to School Cash Online
- Go to MY ACCOUNT.
- From the dropdown menu, select My Students.
- Click to add a student.
- Type in your School Board Name.
- Select School Name from the list.
- Enter Student Criteria (Student Number, First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth).
- CONFIRM
You may add up to eight students to your profile.
How to Make a Payment
- You will be able to view any available items attached to your students that are set up on your account.
- Select the item which you would like to purchase and click “Add to Cart.”
- Once you have finished adding items to your cart, select “Check Out” to make a payment.
You can pay for multiple students’ items in one checkout.

Q: Why did Nechako Lakes School District decide to implement this new system?
A: SD91 is committed to providing families with access to an online payment system already used successfully in hundreds of BC schools. School Cash will save time and effort to make it easier for familes pay for school items or fees. Permission slips are part of the program subscription that will save parents time and effort. .
Q: Is registering for online payment mandatory for SD91students and will cheque or cash still be accepted?
A: While Nechako Lakes preferred method of payment is School Cash Online, parents and guardians will still be able to pay by cheque or cash for school activities and other fees.
Q: Which credit card options are available?
A: The credit card options available are Visa and MasterCard.
Q: Which company does SD91 use to process online payments?
A: We use School Cash Online, a product of the KEV Group. KEV is a Canadian company. Over 350,000 BC currently have access to SchoolCash Online.
Q: What are the costs associated with SchoolCash Online?
A: The school district pays an annual subscription to use the technology platform. End users pay a small fee for this sevice to the KEV group.
Q: Are there additional fees included in school payments?
A: Schools are required to list the same price for items regardless of payment method. A 4% + $0.10 cent transaction fee is included in the cost of items for purchase or absorbed by the school through fundraising events. This fee covers:
- Credit card or Interac processing fees
- Secure Portal Maintenance
- Convenient Mobile Device payment
Any small surplus generated from these transaction fees stays within the school and is used to support student activities, resources and school programs.
Q: What are the benefits to familes?
A: SchoolCash Online is accessible from any web browser and provides real-time, secure access to important school-related information. With this system, families and caregivers can:
- Make online payments for school trips, fees, school clothing and activities
- Instantly approve permission forms online
- Avoid the risks of sending money to school via “backpack delivery”
- Save time and travel to the school office
Q: Are there additional fees included in school payments?
A: Schools advertise the same price for items regardless of payment method (the same as buying good and services in community). A 4% and 10 cent transacton fee is included in the price. This fee covers:
- Credit card and KEV group processing fee
Any surplus from transaction fees remains with the school to support student activities and resources.
Q: Are my family’s purchases secure and how is our privacy protected?
A: School Cash Online adheres to the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (Canada) (PIPEDA), Canada’s anti-spam legislation (CASL) and is compliant with the latest industry standards for payment card security (PCI). Q: When will the money be deducted?
A: Most payments are deducted within three to five business days, depending on the individual banking institution.
Q: Can parents and guardians have separate accounts?
A: Yes. School Cash Online was designed for parents to have individual accounts. Students can be added to up to five different accounts.
Q: Will I get a receipt for purchases?
A: The individual who paid for the item will receive confirmation of the purchase on screen once payment has been successfully processed. They are able to print a copy of the electronic receipt by clicking the “Print” icon. This information is also recorded in the “Payment History” tab. A receipt will also be emailed to the email address associated with the system account.
Q: What should I do if I need a refund?
A: For refunds on any items purchased, please contact your school office. Please do not contact the School Cash Online helpdesk.
Q: Do I need to re-register a student who moves to a different school?
A: If the student is moving to another school within the Division, and School Cash Online is available for that school, then the items for the student will automatically be updated to reflect the new school.
Q: What should I do if I cannot see items I am expecting?
A: Each school creates their own items for purchase and assigns them to its students. Once assigned, they will appear in the “Student Items” tab on School Cash Online. Please contact your child’s school if you do not see the item you are looking for.
Q: What should I do if I forget my login or password?
A: Click on “Sign In” at the top right of the page and then click on “Forgot your password?” to reset your password. A temporary password will be sent to the email address registered with your account.
Q: Why does School Cash Online need my email address?
A: Your email address is needed for your username to log into the system, to email you receipts for payments or donations made, and to enable you to receive email notifications of school events and activities.
Q: How often will I receive email notifications?
A: Email notifications are sent weekdays when new items have been posted and assigned to your child. If there are no new items, you will not be sent an email notification. A reminder notification may be sent for items that have not yet been paid.
Q: What emails will I get from School Cash Online?
A: You will only receive emails for new items available for purchase, your receipts, and any payment reminders.
Q: Can I still register even if I’m not ready to make online payments?
A: Yes! You can and should still register for School Cash Online even if you are not ready to make online payments. School Cash Online can be used as a great way to keep up to date on what is happening at your child’s school.
