Summer Student Postings

We are currently accepting applications for Student Groundskeepers! These are full‑time (40 hours/week) positions running from May 4, 2026 to August 28, 2026. These positions also offer a $2,000 scholarship to a post-secondary program of your choice!

2026 Student Groundskeepers

To be considered, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Enrolled in a post‑secondary education program for September 2026
  • Competent in the use and care of tools and equipment common to the position
  • Hold a valid Class 5 or Class 7 BC Driver’s Licence
  • Have an exemplary driving record
  • Able to perform physically demanding job duties
  • Hold a current WHMIS certificate

If you are interested, please submit your application using the links below no later than March 31, 2026 at 4:00 pm.

If you are applying for a Student Groundskeeper position in Burns Lake or Vanderhoof, please submit your application to both postings listed for that community.

Internal Applicants

Internal applicants are now also required to apply to all postings via Make A Future. 

To view internal postings, click here to log into your account: https://sd91-makeafuture.simplication.com. Be sure to select “Sign In with Employee Email” at the bottom to sign in using your school district credentials.

To apply, click on the posting you are interested in applying to and click “APPLY”. As an internal employee, you do not need to include a resume or cover letter or any additional information. You can continue to click ‘Next’ until you get to the last page where you can click APPLY. A pop-up confirmation will appear once you've successfully applied. You will also receive a confirmation email. You can also view all postings that you have successfully applied to by clicking the Job Postings dropdown in the top-left corner of the webpage and selecting Jobs Applied To.

To view and apply for external postings while logged into your Make A Future account, select the “Display internal/occasional postings” toggle.

MAF Toggle

You should receive an email from jobalerts@simplication.com on Wednesday evenings showing all postings for the current week. As usual, Internal postings are posted on Wednesdays' and close the following Wednesday at 12:00 pm.

External Applicants

School District No. 91 (Nechako Lakes) is only accepting applications via Make A Future. We encourage you to view our vacancies and apply at https://sd91-makeafuture.simplication.com/

If you do not have an online profile and are wanting to apply for positions with School District No. 91 (Nechako Lakes), please follow the steps below to create an account:

  1. Go to Make A Future's Create an account page - sd91-makeafuture.simplication.com/Registration/AttRegistrationStart.aspx.
  2. Enter in your email address.
    • Check your email as a verification code will be emailed to you from info@applytoeducation.com.
  3. Complete the APPLICANT REGISTRATION page; mandatory fields are marked with an asterisk.
    • You MUST select ECE, EA and Support Staff for the Position Category to be able to apply for Support Staff postings.
  4. Click Next until all headings in your portfolio are complete and you have attached your supporting documents.

Once you've created an account and completed your portfolio, you can apply to any postings that you are interested in by following these steps:

  1. Click on the posting you are interested in, review the posting and the job description and click ‘APPLY’.
    • You can upload a resume and cover letter specific to the posting or use the general resume that you've uploaded to your profile.
      • Please ensure your resume showcases all relevant employment, volunteer experience and education pertaining to the position you are applying to.
    • Continue to click Next and update any information or answer the job-related questions if there are any, until the last page where you can click APPLY.
    • A pop-up confirmation will appear once you've successfully applied. You will also receive a confirmation email.
      • You can also view all postings that you have successfully applied to by clicking the Job Postings dropdown in the top-left corner of the webpage and selecting Jobs Applied To.

All External Applications must include the following:

  • Resume and Cover Letter
  • Names and email addresses of at least 2 professional references
